In the heart of Nigeria’s most vibrant yet vulnerable communities, a quiet revolution is taking place. It isn’t led by high-ranking officials or politicians, but by young people armed with digital tools and a vision for a more stable nation. 

At 'Children and Young People Living for Peace (CYPLP)', we recognize that as the nature of conflict changes, our tools for building peace must evolve too.

 

We are proud to be at the forefront of this shift, pioneering the use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) as a force for social good and sustainable development.


Our 2026 vision is embrace for peacebuilding in Nigeria. Ours is a country of immense potential, but challenges like misinformation and communal resource competition often hinder our progress. AI tools—such as Google Gemini—offer a unique opportunity to scale youth-led peacebuilding in ways previously unimagined.


We are creating enabling environment fog young activists to be able to use machine learning to monitor social media for "conflict signals" and hate speech, allowing for community-led mediation before tensions turn into violence.


Empower young developers track environmental changes, such as water scarcity or land degradation, which are often the root causes of local clashes.


Through AI translation, we are breaking down language barriers, ensuring that peace messages reach every corner of Nigeria in local dialects like Hausa, Igbo, and Yoruba. 


We don't just talk about technology; we are putting it in the hands of those who need it most. Our programs are designed to turn "digital natives" into "digital peace-builders":


We provide hands-on training for youth across Nigeria, teaching them how to use AI for data analysis, ethical advocacy, and secure communication.


Connect young tech-innovators with traditional community leaders. This "hybrid" approach ensures that AI solutions are grounded in local culture and wisdom.


Safety is our priority. We facilitate programs that teach the ethical use of AI, protecting our young champions from digital exploitation while they build a better future.


By integrating AI into CYPLP mission, we aren't just dreaming of a better Nigeria; we are generating measurable outcomes:


1. Many youth who complete our tech-peace programs will transition into meaningful jobs or social enterprises, proving that economic opportunity is a primary deterrent to violence.


2. Our "Digital Dialogue" initiatives can have measurable decrease in communal tensions within our project targeted areas.


3. We are moving from a narrative of youth as "victims" to youth as Social Agents for Peace—using data to hold leaders accountable and drive development.
